In January of 1990, Glen Mullett and Graeme Arnott purchased J.B. Ellis & Co. Ltd. Since that time, the firm has risen steadily to become one of the finest international trade service firms in the country.

The Owners:

Glen Mullett, President
Glen began his career in the brokerage industry in 1968 and has worked extensively in the provinces of Alberta, Ontario and British Columbia. In 1970 Glen acquired his Revenue Canada professional qualification (license). He has been an active member of the Canadian Society of Customs Brokers and has served in numerous executive positions both divisionally and nationally. During his lengthy career in the industry, as a customs consultant, he successfully argued cases before the Tariff Board (now the Canadian International Trade Tribunal).

Glen also co-authors the on-going Self-Counsel Press publication entitled "Importing - A Practical Guide to an Exciting and Rewarding Business."

Graeme Arnott, Executive Vice President
Graeme joined J.B. Ellis & Co. in 1974 and obtained his qualified status in 1982. Over the years he has worked in every aspect of the company's operation, and excelled in the development of computer and software solutions suitable to the customs brokerage environment. These talents have earned him the reputation of being one of the very best customs brokerage software technicians in all of Canada. Graeme has also served for a number of years on the Canadian Society of Customs Brokers' National Systems Design Committee, and on the executive of the B.C. Division.

The firm:

You could say that J.B. Ellis has deep roots in the customs brokerage business. The history of the firm extends back to 1936 when it operated under the name of Davidson and Ellis. The current company was formed in 1949. With all this background, and our present staff average of 15 years in the business, our clients are assured of sound, knowledgeable advice.

While our history is important, we are committed to utilizing the latest and most up-to-date form of communication and technical services available. This makes our operation more efficient and allows us to pass the savings on to our clients.
